Ultra Wide Input Range Half Brick
Calex Manufacturing Company, Inc. (Concord, CA) proudly introduces the HEW
series of DC DC converters featuring an ultra wide, 4:1 input voltage range
with up to 150W of power. The 9-36V and 18-75V input ranges enable customers
to use one converter to operate from multiple bus voltages, such as 12V and
24V. These converters also ideal for applications powered by 24V or 48V batteries.
Six standard output voltages ranging from 3.3V up to 24V are available, as
are power levels of 100W and 150W. All thirty models boast tight regulation,
and each provides output trim of ±10%, remote sense, and remote on/off
capability. The HEW series utilizes an industry standard half brick package
with an aluminum baseplate to deliver excellent thermal performance over a
–40°C to +100°C temperature range.
MTBF is greater than one million hours and, like all products from Calex,
the HEW comes with a 5 year warranty. These converters utilize fixed frequency
operation, and noise is conservatively specified as low as 20 mV RMS, depending
on model. High efficiency up to 88% is achieved in tandem with the extended
input range. The HEW series is the 18th ultra wide input range series of converters
offered by Calex
